How to Make a Horizontal Mailchimp Form

Here is what a horizontal Mailchimp opt-in form looks like:

And here is the code to make the magic happen. Just copy and paste this wherever you want your opt-in form to appear (such as a new text sidebar widget).

<div style="width: 30%; float: left;">Text Here</div> <div style="width: 70%; float: left;"><!– Begin MailChimp Signup Form –> <div id="mc_embed_signup"> <form class="validate" id="mc-embedded-subscribe-form" action="http://HereIsWhereYouPasteYourLongURLFromMailChimp" method="post" name="mc-embedded-subscribe-form" novalidate="" target="_blank"> <div class="mc-field-group"> <input class="required" id="mce-FNAME" type="text" name="FNAME" placeholder="First Name" value="" /> <input class="required email" id="mce-EMAIL" type="email" name="EMAIL" placeholder="Email Address" value="" /> <input type="hidden" name="b_8c2fdee11f59dc4d7adf9bcbf_83dec78335" value=""><input type="submit" id="mc-embedded-subscribe" /> </div> </form> </div>

Be sure to replace HereIsWhereYouPasteYourLongURLFromMailChimp with the URL Mailchimp gives you (found by going to Lists- click the list you are using- Signup Forms- Embedded Form- Naked- and then hunting until you find the ‘form action code’ with a URL that includes your username and a bunch of letters and numbers. It’s the URL you want.)

You can also install the WordPress plugin Magic Action Box (there’s a free version) to create a horizontal Mailchimp optin or Aweber opt-in form if you don’t want to mess with the code.

Good luck! πŸ™‚ Let me know if you have any questions.

  1. No matter what I try, when I implement it into my wordpress site it always vertically stacks the subscribe button under the email signup box. rather than placing them horizontally next to each other. Any ideas?
